Phil Kempson | Principal

Mr. Kempson joined Howe High School in 2019, as the High School Principal. He has 23 years of educational experience. Mr. Kempson most recently was an assistant principal at Denison High School for 5 years. He has served various other roles in the education profession including, teacher, athletic director, UIL academic coordinator, campus testing coordinator, and has coached 18 of those 23 years. He has also served at Quinlan-Ford for 6 years, Whitewright for 7 years, and Boles for 5 years.
Mr. Kempson and his wife of 13 years Kelli have 2 daughters and they are members of Sherman Bible Church. Mr. Kempson would like for all students at Howe High School to reach their full potential academically, find an extra-curricular activity to be involved in and take pride in their school and community.

Andrew Cellars | Assistant Principal

Andy Cellars is entering his 28th year in education. Mr. Cellars is in his 5th year as assistant principal at Howe High School. He served as a coach, Special Education and English teacher for 12 years. His first experience in administration was an administrative intern in McKinney ISD before moving full time into administration in Anna ISD as a high school assistant principal . Mr. Cellars became the high school principal after three years in Anna and served in that role for another 3 years. After leaving Faith Family Academy as the principal, Mr. Cellars worked in Melissa ISD in the Special Education department. He received his B.S. degree from Stephen F. Austin and his M.Ed. from Dallas Baptist University. He also received his Superintendent certification through Lamar University. Mr. Cellars wife Malissa is an ARD facilitator with Grayson County Co-Op. They have 6 children and 5 grand-children. He is excited about being able to bring his years of experience to the Howe High School administrative staff!
